Honestly, it isn`t like anyone will ever read this. I mean, yeah, it`s possible... but highly unlikely. So let`s get started.
Of course I`m going to start with Carree (http://getcarreedaway.blogspot.com/). She was, in all honesty, my first true friend. We met way back in 7th grade Spanish class. I didn`t learn much Spanish, but I did learn that she was an awesome person. We`ve stayed friends since then--even though she moved away right before we started high school and we really haven`t seen eachother since. For about 4 months out of the year we`re 2235mi apart and for the rest of the year we`re 2356mi apart. (Yes, I did Google the distances. I like being as accurate as possible.) Carree is... about a million adjectives. She describes herself best:
"I'm incredibly goofy, seriously. I'm either ear-shattering, earth moving loud or unnervingly quite, very rarly do my feet rest on the "middle ground." It's very easy to assume you'll hear me before you'll see me half the time. In more ways than one I lack that subtle sensible thing that the world refers to as "tack." I firmly believe in telling like it is from the beginning so not to prolong the torture of finding out the painful truth, as well as discovering the sticky web of lies that prolong the inevitable. In other words I'll give you a papercut of honesty today instead of shattering your heart in 6 months. I like to keep it blunt, simple and as classy as possible." .She is one of, if not the most, compassionate and... and just wonderful individuals I have had the honor of knowing. She is simple, yet so profound. I believe that if she so desired, she could start a spark that could change the world. There are no words to describe her. She just is. She isn`t fake, and I am incapable of finding nor harboring bad feelings toward her. With just a word, she can brighten the baddest of days and make you see the silver lining in the most dismal situations.
She is inconsistant, always dabbling in a little of everything. She reminds me of a bird. She`ll flutter into your life and maybe make a bit of racket, but by the time she gets into your heart, she`s gone and doing something else.
Truth be told, if I didn`t have a sister, I would ask Carree to be my maid of honor at my wedding.
Caitee, Carree`s twin sister, is a force to be reckoned with. She is a positive light in the world and a bit more down to earth than her sister. Currently, she is in a relationship with a young man and has been with him for a year(ish) now. Unfortunately, we`ve fallen a bit out of contact. I know she wants to go on missions with her church, and I know she has big goals for the future. I also know that no matter what, she will accomplish them. She ought to be a role model for positive thinking, perseverance, loyalty and courage for all young women. I know that she could, and probably will, change the world.
Jaimi, one of my very first friends in college, is a teaching major with a geology minor. She is so, so smart. Since her first year here, she has maintained a 4.0 GPA--no small feat! Jaimi is at the same time, more of an adult than I think I will ever be and a kid at heart. She still watches cartoons (all the classics) and loves the old campy superhero movies + series. An avid anime fan, she is probably the only sensible fangirl I know. She straddles the line between serious and humorous in most everything she does. She is entirely fluent in sarcasm and witty without even trying.
She is also probably one of my best peer role models. Her entire space of living is perfectly organized and she gets all of her work done efficiently. I could certainly take a few lessons from her. She is caring, intuitive and offers blunt, realistic advice without being caustic. She even, admirably, stuck by me when I may have been at my most intolerable.
Since meeting her, we`ve accumulated so many inside jokes that we practically speak in code now. She is an anchor that can keep me sane when the entire world seems like it`s falling apart at the seams. I shudder to think where I would have ended up had we not shared that table in Bio1101.
Jamie is my other Bio1101 buddy and ex-roommate. She has a tough personality and a crude sense of humor and I would never have her any other way. She is brash and honest in all that she says. I never knew her to be the type to mask her feelings or fake any interactions. She rescued me from a terrible roommate situation and was the one to really bring me into our group of friends.
Lauren, Jaimi`s roommate is a nutrition major and our resident health adviser. She keeps me and Jaimi on our respective diets and offers advice on how to be healthier. She also deals with my thousands of inane questions about food-related topics. I`ve never seen her angry, and she is always willing to stick up for her friends. She is also in a happy, stable relationship with an incredibly nice young man.
Cori, a new friend this year is an art major. She`s hilarious and has a heart of gold. She`s a great listener and tolerant when people need to rant. Like with Jaimi, we have enough inside jokes to have our own code language. We share an enthusiasm for abridged series, anime and Stephen Colbert. We trade drawings, come up with elaborate stories and explanations for random things and I`m sure that as the years go by, she will remain a cherished part of the group and a great friend.
Hmmm :) I guess that`s all for now.
Stay safe and enjoy the little moments.

If you knew how much you made my day, strike that my year. I love you SO much. I will be on cloud9 for AT LEAST a month, more likely two. you are the bestest bestie any middle school could have dreamed of and the greatest friend any adult (I use that term loosely when referring to myself) could ever have <3
ReplyDeleteAwwwh :)) I love you too!
ReplyDeleteAnd nah, you`re about 5 bajillion times the person I am. Also, you don`t get consumed with work nearly as frequently as I do--ughhhh next semester even JAIMI (who lives next door) will hardly hear from me.
